Martin Health System is a not-for-profit, community-based healthcare organization that offers a wide spectrum of services in St. Lucie and Martin counties. That includes two acute-care hospitals located in Martin County with a total of 344 beds, as well as cardiac and cancer care, rehabilitation, health and fitness, laboratory and diagnostic imaging services.
The health system employs approximately 3,000 associates between the two counties, ranging from physicians and nurses to support staff and professional service providers. In March 2012, Martin Health broke ground on Tradition Medical Center, a 90-bed hospital located on the campus of Tradition Center for Innovation in west Port St. Lucie. The hospital is expected to open in early 2014 and will create an estimated 400 new jobs.
The Robert and Carol Weissman Cancer Center at Martin Health, through its affiliation with the esteemed H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center, performs dozens of clinical trials each year. That experience has helped Martin Health collaborate with life sciences organizations at TCI – including research studies with VGTI Florida – demonstrating how valuable clinical resources are to scientific research.
With facilities located in St. Lucie West and in the heart of Port St. Lucie, Martin Health has served a vital role in the county’s health care for nearly 30 years.
